As mentioned previously, there are three different types of skin cancer. It’s ideal to know what you need to look out for to know which skin cancer you may have. Melanoma shows a sign of a new spot appearing on your skin or when an existing spot starts to change in colour or size. The basal carcinoma will show signs of a lump in shade of red or pale. It will also appear crusty on the surface. The nodular melanoma can appear as different colours from brown, black, red or pink. The skin will also have a firm texture.

Early Detection

People who have a lot of moles and freckles are at higher risk of skin cancer. Although not all moles and freckles are cancerous, it’s still worth checking with your GP to ensure you do not have them.
